The Estate Management offices for Broadgate Estates are located in Exchange House, an iconic 1980’s structure suspended over the railway line out of Liverpool Street Station. We are working closely with the client to improve these outdated facilities whilst they remain in occupation.
The proposals release dead space within the floorplate to allow for additional showers, increased desk space and meeting rooms, and improved catering facilities. The need for the estate workers to remain safely in occupation during construction has a major impact on programming and logistics.
We developed a series of scenarios to demonstrate how and when work could take place to minimise disruption. The designs respect and work with the existing structure, allowing it to be legible within the proposals along with the existing travertine marble floor, thereby safeguarding the legacy of the original building.
